But this bow was just starting on its second season. If the bow was older and I had used it a ton, it may have been a different story for me. You lose trust in the weapon's ability to do its job. It's very much like a gun that malfunctions enough to make you question it. I don't trust KI crossbows anymore, even if they have great customer service, I can't risk not being able to hunt during peak periods of the season because my crossbow is down, and I don't want to have one blow up in my face. With these shock absorbers, you can be sure that every shot is lethal. This not only makes the crossbow quieter and more stealthy but also improves its accuracy and performance. I had been saving up to buy one for the 2021 season, but the broken KI forced my hand and I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought one. The Killer Instinct Lethal 405 also features custom rubber shock absorbers to reduce noise and vibration. The quality control is terrible.Īs soon the KI broke I went out and bought a Ravin R26. I used to love my KI crossbow, but I can no longer recommend them based on the number of limb failures I have read about lately. Using the discharge bag is simply shooting a bolt into the bag from about 2 feet. ![]() If OSHA applied to crossbows the whole darn thing would have a guard around it with a little hole for the bolt to come out. If you look at their line-up, all of their models use the same limbs. Crossbows are inherently dangerous because they store so much energy. I did some searching on some other forums and it appears this is a very common failure on KI crossbows. I have to send them the old front-end back.
